Health Plans
Health plans must make complex coverage decisions on behalf of their members on a daily basis. Recognizing that challenge, Tactile Systems is committed to providing accurate data and practical education for evaluation of each member’s treatment needs.
About the Flexitouch System The Flexitouch system consists of a programmable, segmented pneumatic compression device with calibrated gradient pressure (HCPCS code: E0652) and corresponding multi-chamber garments for treatment of both the limb and trunk. The Flexitouch system offers all the benefits of a standard pneumatic compression device and provides additional features designed to address specific clinical needs of lymphedema patients:
- Chest and trunk lymphedema require effective treatment, but few home therapy options are available to treat edema in these regions. The Flexitouch system’s chest and trunk garments provide calibrated sequential compression to treat chest, back and trunk edema. See Importance of Treating Truncal Lymphedema for literature references on the clinical significance of treating truncal and chest lymphedema.
- Dynamic calibrated pressure delivered via gentle stretch and release motion on superficial lymphatic structures effectively moves lymph fluid, yet is easily tolerated over sensitive skin and painful areas.
- The Flexitouch system pneumatic controller offers programmability to focus on specific body regions to intensively address fibrotic areas without retreating the entire limb.
Serving the patient
- The Flexitouch controller is easy to use and the comfortable, Velcro®-fastened garments are easy to don and doff.
- A national network of trainers provide product training in the patient’s home.
- Tactile Systems’ Customer Survey shows 92% of patients found the Flexitouch system effective in improving their quality of life.
- The Customer Survey also showed 58% of patients use the Flexitouch system every day and an additional 32% reported using it more than once per week.
