Our team of reimbursement specialists has developed an efficient process that reduces your involvement, streamlines authorization and approvals, and ensures that eligible patients receive the most effective at-home treatment available to them.
Overview of Reimbursement Process
To begin, you will need to complete a patient order kit for your patient (See How to Order). After that, our reimbursement team works on behalf of your patient to secure coverage from their insurance provider if appropriate. Our process follows the steps outlined below.
Step One: We gather information.
- Patient information
- Patient consent
- Medical history
Step Two: We request payment authorization.
- Verify your patient's insurance benefits
- Submit a request to your patient's insurance company for coverage of the Flexitouch system
- Contact your patient's insurance company until a decision is reached
Step Three: We receive your patient's insurance company's decision.
If approved for coverage, we:
- Notify your patient of the insurance approval
- Discuss payment options for any co-pay responsibilities
- Ship the Flexitouch system to the patient and arrange a training session
- Bill your patient's insurance company
If your claim is denied, we:
- Contact your patient to initiate the appeal process with the patient's insurance company
- Assemble a persuasive appeal package with information from you, your patient and your patient's doctor regarding your patient's lymphedema care and treatment
