The Flexitouch System
The company received FDA 510(k) clearance to market the Flexitouch system for treatment of lymphedema and chronic wounds. Over 90 percent of Flexitouch users report being either satisfied or extremely satisfied with their system and 95 percent report continuing compliance. As a result, these patients experience a reduction in symptoms and complications including risk of infection, hospitalization and other debilitating and costly consequences.
Prevalence of Lymphedema
An estimated one in four breast cancer survivors will develop lymphedema within the first two years after treatment. Currently the prevalence of lymphedema among cancer survivors is estimated at over 800,000 patients, with an additional 64,000 cases diagnosed each year. Lymphedema is also caused by prostate and gynecologic cancer intervention, infection, chronic venous disease, burns, paralysis and excess weight.
Reimbursement
More than 280 insurance companies and government agencies, including Medicare, provide reimbursement coverage for the Flexitouch system. Our dedicated team of reimbursement specialists works closely with patients, therapists and payers to secure reimbursement for clinically appropriate patients.
